This was just my experience with MK and it may or may not be an isolated experience. Berkeley is far but I saved $700 so I'd say it was worth it. I picked up my non-functioning laptop from them the next week and brought it to COMPUTERLAND in Berkeley (Apple authorized as well).ĬOMPUTERLAND originally quoted me $530 for the display but they were able to negotiate with Apple and got the fix covered under the warranty. Ok so the keyboard has been recalled but you won't fix it as an Apple authorized store? Cool. The technician said they would only fix my keyboard if I got the display fixed too.

I didn't want to spend nearly $700 to fix a $1000 laptop so I asked them to please do the keyboard while I think about whether I want them to fix the display or not.

They said they would fix my keyboard at the same time for free because there was a recall on my particular keyboard model. I get a phone call that my laptop's damage would not be covered under my warranty and that I would owe them $690 to fix the display. I thought that was nice but I was also annoyed that I waited a week for an appointment that they didn't even have in their system when I could have just dropped in.įast forward to a couple days later. When I got to the store, the girl behind the counter said she couldn't find my appointment in their system but that they would squeeze me in anyways. I called the number and the recording said the store was located on Winchester. I got the confirmation email that I made the appointment, but there was no address for the shop listed in the email. I made an appointment through the Apple Support website for my 2019 Air with display issues.
